Do you think that you might be entering Clearing in 2019? If you're feeling worried about Results Day, the best thing to do is focusing on getting prepared. We're here to help you find a course that you're going to love, so follow our top tips for making sure that your Clearing process goes as smoothly as possible.

Do your research

The more you prepare, the easier Clearing will be. Make sure you're familiar with how Clearing works so you know what to expect.

Choose a course

Clearing is an opportunity to reconsider what you want to study. Whether you choose the same subject, or pick something completely different, have a look at their entry requirements and what the university can offer you.

Be ready

Try get an early night before Results Day and make sure you have breakfast in the morning. If you're rested and ready, you'll find the Clearing process a lot easier.

Stay calm

Didn't get the results you expected? Stay calm – Clearing is another opportunity to find a university place you're going to love in 2019 so you need to make the most of it.

Have your details to hand

Ready to contact a university? Make sure you have your contact details, UCAS ID, qualifications and results to hand...and the title and UCAS code of the course you're interested in.

Pick up the phone

You need to make sure you contact universities yourself to discuss your Clearing options. We're here to help you and make this process as easy as possible, so don't be nervous. Our Clearing hotline opens at 7am on Results Day – make sure you give us a call on 0330 058 4266

Ask questions

The Clearing call is your chance to work out if a university is the right choice for you, so make sure you ask any questions you have about the course and life at the university.

Speak to someone

There's a lot to think about when it comes to Clearing, especially if you're picking between multiple universities. Make sure you speak to your parents or guardian, or a teacher – they'll be able to offer support and help you choose the best university for you.

Confirm your place

Found the perfect course and received a verbal offer? The next step is to log in to UCAS and add the university as your Clearing choice. You'll be able to add your choice from 3.00pm on Results Day by logging in to UCAS Track.
