Clearing Advice for Parents

Leeds Trinity University > Clearing Advice for Parents

Clearing is an opportunity for applicants to secure a place at university after receiving their results. Clearing officially opened on Friday 5 July and runs until to mid-October and is available to applicants who:

  • Haven't received any university offers, or haven't yet applied to university
  • Didn't meet the conditions of their offers
  • Rejected all their offers
  • Applied through UCAS after 30 June

If your son or daughter has met the entry requirements for their course, their place at university will be automatically confirmed. This process is known as Confirmation.

If they don't get their Firm choice, they may be automatically placed with their Insurance choice. The best thing to do is check UCAS Track when they have their results, which will show the status of their application.

If they don't get the grades for their Firm or Insurance choice, they can look for a place on another course by applying through Clearing.

Each year, thousands of applicants secure a place to study through Clearing. It's a smooth and common process which gives your son and daughter another opportunity to find a university they will love, so it's important to approach Clearing with a positive attitude.

If your son or daughter is looking to apply to Leeds Trinity through Clearing, they can call our Clearing Hotline on 0330 058 4266 or email to speak to one of our experienced Admissions staff. We can only speak to applicants, so please encourage them to contact us directly.
