The Department for Children, Young People and Families aspires to be recognised as a centre of excellence for the study of early years and supporting children and to provide professional development of the children’s workforce for the region.
Section Summary
The environment of Children’s Services and family support has changed enormously in the last few years, with a resulting need for retraining, staff development and interagency understanding.
By listening to employers and working together, the Department for Children, Young People and Families will provide staff training and development to address this need and help you create more efficient and effective employees.
Our ambition is to work in partnership with employers to provide meaningful professional development opportunities for professionals in these fields, designed to be delivered in appropriate ways through work-based learning, ‘day release’ courses, elements of distance learning and part-time study as well as the more traditional undergraduate modes.
We believe we are ideally placed to support employers in this way and are now offering a suite of academic programmes, including:
