Nominations invited for outstanding contribution to Catholic education

Do you know a teacher who you think is top of their class? Each year Leeds Trinity University recognises teachers who have made an outstanding contribution to Catholic education with a special lifetime award.

To qualify, teachers must have: 

  • a close association with Leeds Trinity University;
  • gained substantial experience in Catholic schools;
  • made a strong contribution to the Catholic school community;
  • been involved in training student teachers from Leeds Trinity University.

Nominations for an award must be made in writing by Head Teachers or Chairs of Governing bodies. Please send letters of nomination to Professor Margaret A House, Vice-Chancellor, Leeds Trinity University, Brownberrie Lane, Horsforth, Leeds LS18 5HD or email k.stenton@leedstrinity.ac.uk

There are three nomination dates throughout the year: 

  • 30 November
  • 31 March 
  • 30 June

Congratulations to Anne Springer, who is the most recent winner of the award.

Previous winners of the award are as follows: Kevin Albrow, Jim Coffey, Peter Fusco, Michael Teggart, Mike Woods, Aileen Madden, Sue Rix, Jean Smith, Cath McMahon, Kathryn Carter, Mary Rogerson and Anne Woliter.
