Alumni Communication

Leeds Trinity University > Alumni Communication

How we keep you updated on life at Leeds Trinity University

If you are a former student or former member of staff you can keep up-to-date with life at Leeds Trinity through Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter or by actively opting in to receive alumni communications by e-communications, telephone or SMS.

One of the biggest changes to UK data privacy law is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which will come into effect on 25 May 2018. This will affect how we communicate with our members, most of whom will need to re-enrol.

Please scroll down the page for further information about this.

Monthly newsletters and tailored communications

Our preferred and easiest method of keeping in touch with you is via email and e-newsletters. We send out monthly alumni e-newsletters to all alumni who have completed a form consenting to receive communications from us. Our newsletter keeps you up-to-date with all the latest news, events and opportunities at Leeds Trinity. Occasionally, we'll also put together specific e-shot communications about an event or opportunity we think will be of interest to specific alumni.

If for any reason you are not receiving the monthly e-newsletter, you can view the newsletter archive at the bottom of this page. If at any time you want to unsubscribe just let us know and we'll stop sending you these types of communications.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a legal framework that sets guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals within the European Union (EU). It affects everyone. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) means you will have more control over how your data is used and how you're contacted. The changes will also help protect your personal data more.

If you are a member of our Alumni Community, how will your data be used?

We have updated our Alumni Privacy Policy to reflect the latest changes, which you can read here. If you'd like to find out further information about GDPR, we've put together a FAQ page.

How do I know if I need to re-enrol or not?

We will be contacting all of our alumni members who need to re-enrol. The majority of our alumni community will need to. This will initially be done by email.

Even if you have received a membership pack before, we still need you to have clearly opted in to receive further information from us after 25 May 2018. The majority of graduates from 2014/15 onwards will need to re-enrol as most of you didn't opt out as opposed to opting in. Opting in includes a positive action (consent) by you indicating your agreement for us to use your data in a certain way(s).

Those of you who have completed a membership form or have clearly asked to opt in via email do not need to re-enrol. Although you may wish to update how we communicate with you.

Updating your details or joining the Alumni Community

If you are re-enrolling (those of you who have already received a membership pack in the post) you should complete this form. If you are requesting to join the Alumni Community for the first time, please complete a new member form. Former staff members are also very welcome to join and can complete this form.

If you have any questions or want to check if you have opted in before, please email
