We offer schools and colleges a range of high quality and innovative programmes to support teaching and learning in schools and raise the aspirations and outcomes of young people.
Employer Partnerships
A key feature of all our courses is practical experience and career focused learning. All undergraduate students at Leeds Trinity get a head start in the job market by undertaking one or two Professional Placements in the real world of industry, commerce, education or another appropriate work situation.

ITT (Initial Teaching Training)
Leeds Trinity offers Undergraduate Primary Education and PGCE Primary and Secondary Courses. We have a close working relationship with over 600 Primary and Secondary schools so that we can work in partnership to effectively train the next generation of teachers. We have excellent communication with our schools and have established a very good reputation over a number of years.

- Primary Education
The Primary Education BA degrees offer people the opportunity to study for an Education degree with teacher training, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Successful students are then fully qualified to teach across the primary age phase. The department also offers a
Primary PGCE for graduates who wish to become qualified primary teachers.
- Secondary Education The Department of Secondary Education offer PGCE courses in six subject areas. Leeds Trinity University College also works in partnership with schools in the North of Leeds to offer school-centred initial teacher training for graduates - Leeds SCITT.
- We also offer the Assessment-Only Route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This allows people currently working in schools as unqualified teachers to gain QTS.
CPD (Continuing Professional Development)
Leeds Trinity offers CPD opportunities and accreditation for the whole school workforce.
- The Teaching and Learning Academy is a professional development framework for the whole school workforce. It is designed to offer learning opportunities and national recognition for staff working in schools at all career stages, while giving schools a framework for professional development that supports school improvement. It enables verified centres to develop a research-based whole institution approach to staff development and can lead to accreditation across the range from foundation degree (level 4) to masters degree (level 7).
- MA in Education. The Leeds Trinity MA Education is a professionally oriented part-time programme that enables teachers and other education professionals to engage with a wide range of educational issues. It is designed to support improvements in teaching and learning through critical reflective practice and practical enquiry.
- The Department for Children, Young People and Families offers a wide range of Foundation Degree modules, HLTA Courses and other CPD opportunities for schools and other educational settings.
Raising Aspirations
The Schools and College Liaison Team offer a comprehensive range of services for teachers and advisers. Our activities aim to support work currently taking place encouraging those who may be considering entering Higher Education and to target groups currently under represented in Higher education through a programme of inreach and outreach activities.
