The original building work was completed at about the same time as England were winning the World Cup. The two colleges opened in September 1966 and merged to become Leeds Trinity & All Saints in 1980. In 2012 we were granted full university status and became Leeds Trinity University.

Course Variety

We started out as a teacher training college, and Education is still a big part of what we do, but we also have thriving departments of Media, Film and Culture; Journalism; Business, Management and Marketing; Psychology; Sport, Health and Nutrition. We’re passionate about what we do, so we continue to develop our courses - we were one of the first places in the UK to teach degrees in Forensic Psychology and Sports Journalism - and for 2013 entry we have introduced 18 new undergraduate courses including four pioneering 2 year accelerated degrees in Management and Sports Education.

Continued Growth

When we opened in 1966 we had approximately 300 students. We now have more than 3,000, but we still hold onto the community feeling that makes us special.

Our campus continues to develop, too, with various improvements being made to improve our great community.

Leeds Trinity has a Catholic foundation and, as an inclusive community, we seek to help all who live and work here to flourish.
