About Leeds
Leeds is famous for its entertainment, culture, shopping, nightlife and leisure and is one of the best places in the UK to live and study.
Section Summary
Leeds Trinity is just 6 miles from the vibrant city centre.
A Student City
It may be the UK’s third largest city but Leeds has a compact city centre that is easy to get around and a really friendly feel. It is internationally recognised as a major centre of learning and has a student population of over 200,000!
A Working City
Leeds is one of the largest employment centres in the UK covering a wide range of business sectors. Many of our graduates like Leeds and the work opportunities it offers so much that they stay to pursue their careers here.
Daytime
Leeds has lots going on so you’ll never be stuck for something to do.
Shopaholics know you can’t do much better than the city centre – there is something to suit all tastes and all budgets!
The city’s many art galleries, museums and theatres offer a wide range of cultural activities.
Leeds is also great for sports fans. Headingley is home to the Yorkshire County Cricket Club and rugby league team Leeds Rhinos. And of course, Leeds United play across town at Elland Road.
If you want to get active yourself, the Yorkshire countryside is close enough for a day out climbing, trekking, biking or even pot-holing.
Nightlife
As you’d expect, with so many young people in the city the night time social scene is amazing. Leeds offers everything from old-fashioned drinking dens to hip bars and late-night clubs.
Most venues hold regular student nights so there is a place to meet friends and have a great time pretty much any night of the week. There are shuttle buses to and from our campus on some of these club nights so you know you’ll get back safely.
Live Music
Leeds has an enviable and legendary music history and its gig scene continues to be one of the best in the country. The massive Leeds festival is a regular summer fixture and there are numerous venues where you can catch all the latest bands.
