Get a foot in the door
All our undergraduate honours courses include professional work placements. Teacher trainees have school-based training placements in each of four years. We have specialist staff to assist students in securing placements. Employers are increasingly using placements and internships as a filtering and selection process. Many students find that a successful placement leads to vacation work and even to permanent job offers after graduation.

Employers are involved in our courses, giving guest lectures, holding informal Q&A sessions, or involved in Dragon’s Den style competitions. We help students gain real-world experience, for example an in-house TV production team provides opportunities for budding audio-visual programme makers to hone their production and people skills.
