Membership for schools

Leeds Trinity University > Membership for schools

Benefits of school membership

Research shows that engagement with the Children's UniversityTM has a measurable and positive impact by improving attendance, attitudes and attainment.

Read the full report, Evaluating Provision, Progress and Quality of Learning in the Children's UniversityTM 2012, by Professor John MacBeath to find out more about the proven benefits

Leeds Children's UniversityTM can provide extensive support for your school, including:
  • validation of the school as a Learning Destination
  • validation of specific activities and clubs
  • validating school activities and clubs to become a Learning Destination
  • training for staff
  • undergraduate student volunteers to help with school-based events
  • marketing support
  • Super Saturday learning events at Leeds Trinity
  • passports, stamps and certificates
  • loan of caps and gowns
  • invitations to special Children's UniversityTM events
  • Graduation ceremonies

Expectations of school members

The benefits of membership far outweigh the expectations. Schools are required to:
  • identify a member of staff to engage in training and be responsible for Children's UniversityTM activities in the school.
  • complete administrative duties
  • promote the school's involvement with Leeds Children's UniversityTM
  • organise in-school award ceremonies
  • work with undergraduate student volunteers when they are in school
  • engage with Leeds Children's UniversityTM events at Leeds Trinity, including the annual graduation ceremony
