Former Chancellors

Leeds Trinity University > Former Chancellors

Leeds Trinity University's first Chancellor was acclaimed sports presenter and journalist Gabby Logan, who held the post from 6 January 2013 to 5 January 2018.

The first female presenter of a live football match and the first woman to host Match of the Day, Leeds-born Gabby is an inspirational figure in the worlds of Sport and Journalism.

During her time as Chancellor, Gabby conferred hundreds of degrees and delivered numerous Chancellor's addresses at university Graduation ceremonies. She attended events on campus and in Leeds city centre, and hosted a celebration at Leeds Civic Hall for the University's 50th Anniversary celebrations.

Gabby said: "I am very proud to be part of the community at Leeds Trinity and to hold the post as their very first Chancellor.

"I'm a firm believer in the importance of higher education and have been thoroughly inspired seeing the benefits an education at Leeds Trinity University can offer. I'd like to wish the University, its staff, students and alumni, continued success for the future."

Gabby stepped down from her post as Chancellor on 6 January 2018 – completing a five year term as the University's first Chancellor. She was succeeded in April 2018 by Deborah McAndrew.
