Where are the ceremonies held?

The ceremonies take place in the Great Hall on the University of Leeds campus.  Please click here for a campus map and directions to the University.

What time is my ceremony?

The time of your ceremony depends on your programme.  The full schedule for the July ceremony is now available.  Click here to find out what time ceremony you need to attend.

How many guests can I bring?

Ceremony tickets (and extra tickets) are administered directly by the University of Leeds.  Please click here for full details.

You are automatically allocated two guest tickets.  These will not be sent to you.  You should collect these from the degree ceremonies Ticket Desk in the Student Union Building (click here for a campus map) at the University on the day of your ceremony. Tickets will not be issued until 90 minutes before the ceremony start time.

There may be a small number of extra guest tickets available for seats in the Great Hall. These will be allocated on a first come, first served basis on the day of the degree ceremony from the degree ceremonies Ticket Desk in the Student Union Building. Any extra tickets that are available will only be distributed 90 minutes before the ceremony start time.

The University does provide a live feedback of each ceremony which will be available for guests who are not able to get into the hall. This will be shown in the Rupert Beckett Lecture Theatre in the Michael Sadler Building. This feed is also free to view online at www.leeds.ac.uk/webcast.

How do I order my gown?

You can order your gown for the July ceremony from 1 May 2012 by going to http://www.gownhire.co.uk.  If you do not have access to a computer, please telephone the call centre on 01223 861854.

Please note:  In order to hire your academic dress you must provide a ceremony access code.  Leeds Trinity University College students/graduands will receive this graduation reference number in the leaflet that will be sent to you in late April/early May.   You will only receive this leaflet if you have confirmed your ceremony attendance. If you have not confirmed your attendance please see the section entitled "How do I register my attendance at the July ceremony?" for further instructions.

When ordering your gown online, please ensure that you select “University of Leeds” as your institution when required and not “Leeds Trinity etc.”.

Click here for full gown hire details including price information.

What happens on the day?

Each ceremony lasts about 1 hour and you need to arrive at the Leeds University campus at least 1½ hours before the ceremony is due to start.

When you arrive on campus you should go straight to the degree ceremonies Ticket Desk at the Student Union Building to collect your tickets and your academic dress. You can also discuss your photography and video requirements in this building. Photography is provided by Ede and Ravenscroft.  You should arrive at the Great Hall (click here for a campus map), wearing your academic dress, 30 minutes before your ceremony.

The University College may ask a photographer to be present at the University in order to take publicity photographs for use in future publications.  If you do not wish to be included in such photos please make this clear to the photographer on the day.

Will I receive a pack of information?

All the information you need about your ceremony is available from the University of Leeds website (http://www.leeds.ac.uk/ceremonies).

However, we will be sending out printed information in late April/early May to all students/graduands who select to attend the July ceremony.

Please remember to keep your address up-to-date by logging on to your E-vision account (if you are still a registered student at the University College) or by contacting Student Administration.

How do I register my attendance for the July ceremony?

Finalists eligible to attend the July ceremony have been sent a "Conferment of Awards" form.  You need to complete and return this form to inform us of your decision.  If you have not received this form, you can also register your attendance, or otherwise, by e-mailing your details to graduation@leedstrinity.ac.uk.  For students who have not yet been awarded, you can also register your attendance by logging-on to the Leeds Trinity intranet and registering your attendance online by going to our 'Graduation' page (under 'Student Services').

What do I do if I've changed my mind about attending the ceremony?

If at any point you decide not to attend your ceremony, please contact Lucy Birkenshaw (Tel: 0113 283 7105 or E-mail: graduation@leedstrinity.ac.uk) rather than make contact with the University of Leeds.

What if I don't want to attend the July ceremony?

If you are not able to attend the July ceremony, you can either:

1. attend the December ceremony (10th to 14th December 2012 (provisional dates)); or

2. have your certificate conferred “in absentia”, in which case your certificate will be posted to your home address.

Please contact Lucy Birkenshaw (E-mail: graduation@leedstrinity.ac.uk, Tel: 0113 2837105) if you wish to change to one of the above.

What if I have any other questions?

If you have any queries about your degree ceremony which cannot be answered by consulting this or the Leeds University (http://www.leeds.ac.uk/ceremonies) webpages, please contact Lucy Birkenshaw (Tel: 0113 283 7105, E-mail: graduation@leedstrinity.ac.uk) in the first instance.
