"Leeds Trinity University has Catholic values, not too large and benefits from being on the outskirts of the city but near enough to access all the night life and University facilities.
BA (Hons) Primary Education was a composite course which gave three separate opportunities to have in school training and also enabled you to register as a teacher after three years, allowing for occasional work in the fourth year.
The support of the staff at Leeds Trinity continued when I completed an MA Education, 1994-1998. The Catholic links with local schools supported me in seeking employment and has meant I'm now committed to the Catholic schools in Leeds.
My career in education began when I taught at St Mary's Menston for seven years and Mount St Mary's when it was a 13-18 years of age secondary school. Over the past 14 years, I have worked at Mount St Mary's as Head of Year, Deputy Head and in September 2010 took on the role of Headteacher.
This is a Catholic inner city comprehensive drawing from some of the most deprived areas of the city. Stronger links have been formed with Notre Dame Sixth Form College and also Leeds Trinity where I have already been involved in interviewing candidates for the PGCE course.
